The free rock festival is held each summer in Kostrzyn nad Odrą, Poland, and its organisers already know how much mass-participation record-breaking can add to the party atmosphere after 398 festival-goers successfully attempted the same record last year.
Sponsored by Play, a Polish mobile operator, the record attempt took part at part of celebrations surrounding the 21st anniversary of the music event.
The idea behind the body painting was to celebrate fun, creativity, spontaneity, self-expression and freedom.
Each participant was covered from head-to-toe in rainbow colours by one of the body painting artists (which took two hours), and then had to remain in a designated fenced-off area for five minutes while official Guinness World Records adjudicator Louise Toms counted and verified the attempt.
Once the new record was confirmed, Louise took to the main stage to present a certificate to a exultant crowd of about 230,000 people.
