This time he is trending because Saif's name has been associated with a film. The actor, who was last seen in Bazaar with debutante Rohan Mehra and his 'Sacred Games' co-star Radhika Apte, will now star in a spooky comedy.
Saif Ali Khan has already explored the genre with 'Go Goa Gone'. The announcement of this film, which is not the sequel of 'Go Goa Gone', was made by Aamir Khan's leading lady of two films - 'Dangal' and 'Thugs Of Hindostan' - actress Fatima Sana Shaikh.
She also revealed that the movie, titled 'Bhoot Police', is being directed by Pavan Kirpalani. "Ghost hunting is a hilariously spooky business! Presenting the cast of #BhootPolice #PavanKirpalani #SaifAliKhan @alifazal9," posted the actress along with a fun photo of the trio.
In the photography, Fatima sits on a chair donning a western outfit. Meanwhile she is surrounded by the 'men in black' Saif Ali Khan and Ali Fazal. They both don black sunglasses. To give an additional effect, Ali Fazal is seen wearing a silver chain while Saif Ali Khan poses with a torch light on.
We learn that the movie is being backed by Fox Star Studios. The production house would be presenting and producing the film. Meanwhile the makers have announced that the movie, which is slated to become a franchise, is the first horror comedy which will be showcased in 3D.
Fatima made her debut with 'Dangal' and this is the first time when she is working outside of an Aamir Khan movie. On the other hand Saif Ali Khan is on a roll. The actor, who is already going to be seen in the massively loved web-series 'Sacred Games 2', also has movies like 'Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior' with Ajay Devgn.
He plays an antagonist in the film. He will also star in Nitin Kakkar's 'Jawani Janeman' and Sushant Singh Rajput starrer 'Dil Bechara', which is an adaptation of the Hollywood movie 'The Fault In Our Stars'. The third lead Ali Fazal too would be seen in the hit web show 'Mirzapur 2' and star in movies like Prakash Raj's 'Tadka', which a remake of the Malayalam blockbuster 'Salt N Pepper'. He is also part of Sanjay Dutt's 'Prassthanam'.
For the uninitiated, 'Bhoot Police' is the same horror comedy which was originally titled 'Tantrik'. The movie was initially supposed to star Abhishek Bachchan in the lead role but he got replaced by actor Saif Ali Khan. The shooting of this film commences in August this year.
