Teamwork Arts, a pioneering entertainment company, renowned for curating innovative and experiential events presents the finale of the three-part monthly concert series, Under the Banyan Tree on A Full Moon Night on June 24.
The Phase I and Phase II brought cultural aficionados of Delhi together for memorable evenings in April and May, featuring a variety of performances by renowned artistes like Azeem Ahmed Alvi, Ujwal Nagar, Qutbi Brothers Qawwal, Ahsan Ali, Anwar Khan Manganiyar and Vidhi Sharma.
At the season finale, the audience will witness artistes performing under the tranquil repose of a banyan tree. In this Baithak-style evening, the cosmic and alluring strawberry moon and music will blend to offer an intimate experience shared with the like-minded and an opportunity to engage with the musicians as well. Audiences can also enjoy an interestingly conjured culinary experience complementing the evening.
Supported by Fab India, the concluding concert of this Hindustani Music Series will feature music performances by Harpreet (Sufi Folk) and Mir Mukhtiyar Ali (Folk Qawwal). In addition, we've also joined hands with one of India's biggest film festivals, Jagran Film Festival, for a special conversation.

Mir Mukhtiyar Ali - A folk singer from Bikaner in Rajasthan, Mir Mukhtiyar Ali belongs to the semi-nomadic community of Mirasis, who have been the traditional carriers of the oral tradition of Sufiana Qalam in India. Mukhtiyar blends the Rajasthani folk idiom with refined classical to sing the poetry of Kabir, Mira and Sufi poets such as Bulleh Shah. Through the Kabir project, Mukhtiyar was spotted by world music circuits and made his international debut in July 2007. Since then, he has performed in Belgium, Sweden, China, Canada, Germany, and France. He has also lent his voice to a few films including Tashan (2008), Bombay Summer (2008), Kathai (2010) and Delhi in a Day(2011).
Harpeet - Hailing from Kurukshetra, Harpreet is an independent musician, who has been composing poetry of Hindi and Punjabi poets, including Baba Bulleh Shah, Avatar Singh ‘Pash’, Suryakant Tripathi ‘Nirala to name a few. Recently, he composed his first Urdu song, a poem by Faiz Ahmad Faiz- Bol ke lab Azaad hain tere. Harpreet has been part of some of the country’s most prestigious festivals like Kochi-Muziris Biennale, Jaipur Literature Festival, Taj Mahotsav, Music in the Hills, Friends of Music, Aquajam, BYOFF, Sonapani Music festival, Hindi Diwas- Aurobindo Society, Amarrass Desert festival, SAHMAT, Sangeet Natak Academy – Chandigarh, Gaiety Theatre – Shimla, Theatrefest Repertwahr- Lucknow and many more. In Nov 2015, he made his international debut at Esplanade, Singapore at Kalaa Utsavam 2015.
Apart from the two music performances, the series has partnered with, Jagran Film Festivalfor a special conversation piece on the nostalgia and the dynamics of India’s largest film festival, as part of the final concert programme. The conversation will revolve around the magic and impact of cinema and the interesting travel stories spread across 18 cities and the joy it brings amongst the audiences in different cities through this art form.
An inspiring space creatively conceptualised by Anubhav Nath, the venue 1AQ is at the heart of Delhi’s heritage area and offers a stunning view of Qutub Minar, and ideal for an inimitable setting for this experience.
